Sorry, not a rangefinder but I just bought an Arax 88. The "ARAX-CM-MLU/SE (Special Edition) kit."
And a Kaleinar 150mm lens to go along with the Zodiac 30mm. So, once my package arrives, I'll have super-wide, normal, and short-tele.
The kit includes two 6x6 film backs, eye level and waist level finders and some other bits.

A historical camera, a (probably) real war veteran:

A Graflex Anniversary Speed Graphic used by the USAAF in WW2 (under the military designation Ground Camera C-3). It was made in 1944 without chrome, as every wartime Graflex. Maybe it just sat in an Army Storage facility before the war ended, but quite probably served in the Pacific or most probably in Europe, taking pictures of bombers & fighters (in the ground, obviously). It still works perfectly with both leaf and focal plane shutters and my first pictures with it were cautiously choosen: bunkers and trenches of the Segre front during the spanish civil war arround Lleida.

Very nice, Mike... and an excellent deal at that price! I paid around twice that for mine (although it did include a 50mm f/1.7, so not too bad).

Mine also has considerable brassing - which was certainly among the reasons that I chose that particular example.

I've never owned (or even seen) an LX, but from what I've read, it certainly seems to be an excellent camera. I must say, though, that the MX really hits the spot for me, due to its solid simplicity. Just SO good.

In addition to the 50mm f/1.7, I own the 135mm, and a 28mm........ but the mention of your 40mm does spark a certain amount of 'gear envy'.

Houghton butcher folder, takes 122 size film has Taylor, Taylor, Hobson, Cooke 6'' 5/8'' f6.3 lens, contessa nettal folder 6 x 9 , Kodak 2a autograph 6 x 9, Houghton butcher carbine 6 x 9. A sequence of silly things has ended up with me buying a Mamiya Press 23 Super with both roll film and sheet film backs as well as the Sekor 50mm f/6.3 lens. It's a beautiful old beast of a camera: I've got a roll of film loaded and a couple of exposures made with it. I need to order some 6x9 sheet film too.

Few days ago I got a brassed black Konica Autoreflex T3n with Konica Hexanon 50mm f/1.7 and a Cosina Compact 35e in fair condition. I hope I can rescue the Cosina. The Konica should work well even if it looks a little bit like a rat-camera.

Just few hours ago I looked for lenses for this Konica above.
Found a set of a 135mm and 28mm, fortunately at one lens the lens cap is a Autoreflex TC... both 2 lenses and the TC for all together 40 Euros.

Couldn't say no.

Except when it showed up and I checked it out they in fact meant the opposite..

On another note, I see people on ebay selling used NON-reloadable film cartridges with the last little bit of film sticking out. What's the deal with this? You just tape the new bit on, try to get it square, and load onto that? Seems like it would be liable to pull off...

On the other hand, it would be DX-coded, unlike the less expensive reloadable cartridges...

Have you guys done that? How did it work?

What that REALLY means, (in the absence of a receipt) is that they messed around with it and it seems to work OK.

"Shutter clicks? Check.
Dials turn? Check.
Back opens and latches properly? Check." = "serviced and working well"

Have you guys done that? How did it work?

I do that a lot. I use a 3/4” piece of clear tape on both top and bottom and I haven’t any instances of it letting go.

I don’t need the DX coding, but it’s cheap and easy (I don’t buy them, I just re-use factory loaded cassettes). They’re also handy if I’m giving some film to a friend to try. I don’t have to worry about getting the cassettes back.

I haven't quite yet. Have some PanF+ in my cart at B&H, and wondering about how long it's gonna be before I can get the Ilford Ortho in 35 and 120 from them. I LOVE ortho film. I don't know how to describe what it is about it that works. Something in the space between highlights and upper midtowns that gets stretched out and bleached, so it's a histogram of stripes. really narrow stripes. Ortho is more like drawing.

I'll probably order Monday. Still not sure what.

I've got some XX and some money from selling off some stuff on apug.
