How is Tom A. associated with this thing? The softie?

So, is it me, or is this a horrendous paint job? Not that I would dismiss a purple paint M, but this looks so awful and amateur. Maybe its supposed to be like that?

My reaction: mama purse and nail polish was involved in this case of vandalism.

The seller is in Hong Kong, so maybe Tom sold that a while ago.

Sometimes our past comes back to haunt us!!!! This camera was assembled from various "defunct" M's. The chassis and covers were M4P, top and base was powder coated purple (the guys that do anodizing for me offered to do it as they had some purple "haze" powder coating stuff left over. I decided to add the silver leather - as the regular cover was chipping off. It was done mostly to try out powder coating as a surface finish. I decided against it as it is quite thick and "creeps" around sharp edges. You have to grind off the accumulation with a die grinder!
For while it resided in Hove Camera, Brighton - between a Bruckner special M6 and a Sultan of Brunei gold plated M6. Arthur Krick (at the time owner of Hove Camera) claimed that it got a lot of comments - not necessarily favourable though". In the end I gave it to a friend in Hong Kong.
Ugly sucker!!!!!
The strap was made up in a sufficiently bright color off set to match the camera.
At the time Leica was producing masses of "Special Editions", The KFC (Year of the Rooster), the Íresund Bridge Camera and many more. At least mine was a bit more colourful!
