John - love the F2 and plain prism. The cache of this site among others means an old S2 will cost you 5 times what an F or F2 will - lenses even more. Clearly rarity has something to do with it, but for the part that nostalgia might play, I always wanted an F2 and made do with lesser cameras - until now - picked one up with a 50 1.4 and DP-1 for a hundred bucks. Rangefinder it ain't, and that's because Nikon succeeded in creating the most accurate and easiest focusing finder there was.

Sorry, I missed this comment previously.

This is my second F2. My original one has a DP-1 finder and a bit of brassing but it seems to work great. This one was essentially new except for the bad foam seals. I've replaced them and installed a 36exp roll of Delta 400. I also checked the shutter speeds and they seem to be close to spec. From what I was told, this may be one of the first rolls of film thru this camera.

Canon 7 with 85mm f/1.9. The lens get less use than it deserves since the combination doesn't fit in my camera bag.

Thank you John. I very much enjoy your contributions to this thread.

Now, today's shot, from the first of three cafes I visited today (for various reasons), is of my very favourite camera of all:

Edit: I should, perhaps, add that the bakery cafe is being extended, hence the temporary boarding.

M2 & J12 (adding a filter-ring really helps with the handling, acts as small hood and looks like it should have always been there )

Now, today: I was at the hospital all day for tests, so I had a small pair of cameras. Oh - and it wasn't cola; they'd run out of tea cups

The girl in the picture was prisoner S21-0174 at the Tuol Sleng prison (S-21). That is the picture taken of her prior to her execution for crimes against the state by the Khmer Rouge.

I don't know her name but I'll never forget her face.

Yeah. Always tea with me. I can't drink coffee any more. But there's no separate thread for us tea addicts.

My previous avatar, Czeslawa Kwoka, was a 14 year old Polish Catholic girl who died in a Nazi concentration camp. They killed her because they could.

I drink tea too every now and then. Just wanted to make sure what was in your cup wasn't some sad version of coffee. That would have been outrageous!

- How would you like your coffee?
- Black. Black as the night on a moonless night!
- ...Pretty black!

Recognize the dialog?

Still, there are limits for everything. Coffee-wise, I guess you know yours.
