Nikki Sixx on Leica Camera Blog

I thought I'd highlight this series on Leica Camera Blog.

Nikki Sixx's images, to me at least, are a great example of 'street' photography, and Sixx demonstrates an incredible empathy for, and connection with his subjects.

There are two posts on the blog so far: here and here.

I've always loved his music, and this is a completely different side of the man. Highly recommended!

Wow, who knew? I must say, that's good work--very gritty and dark.

I found the interviews very interesting, and his tumblr foto site has some really great work on it:

An artist is an artist. I've seen his work a few years ago.
I guess having an unlimited budget and a fanclub also helps with the models

He seems to like panhandler-bums type of models. Those are not my favourite subject, to be honest.

The fact that he chose to promote his "models" from the streets, raises my respect for him. With his budget and popularity, he could have gone the "tasteless nude" -route.

A very talented artist. I admire his music, but not the lyrics.

Real nice photography indeed, and compassionate too.

Very real, both in images and stories.

Impressive!

Not surprised that a successful musician has passion... Am impressed that a man with such success has such COMpassion.
