IWC Ref3740 Der Fliegerchronongraph. Very unusual watch with a movement that was a combination automatic/quartz. This one didn't work when it was given to me but I found a buyer in Switzerland who had a replacement movement.

How about a pocket watch? And how about a motorcycle handlebar mount for a pocket watch?

My 1960 Ingersoll Triumph with a PJ Speedos pocket watch mount on my 1966 Honda CB77 SuperHawk.

Amazingly the Ingersoll Triumph is the only pocket watch I've found (and believe me, I've tried more than a few) that can take all the bounces and shocks of the road and keep right on humming along. I've had this one on the bike for at least three years - keeps great time!

Cool watch Vince, but strap that sucker to my Harley and I bet it would be dead in a week. My M3 rides in a two inch thick bed of soft foam each trip to Sturgis, only way to keep it from vibrating to pieces.

Best,
-Tim

I've owned many many watches, but this rather simple (and "cheap" in the realm of mechanical watches) hand-winding Max Bill remains as one of my all-time favorites.

Sug, I must say your Max Bill Junghans looks much better than the current offering, which I have. I must look out for one like yours. In fact I thought you had it up for sale here a few months ago.

welshzorki, I love the look of the Chronoscope as well.

pyeh,
Which one do you have? Yes, I had this one in classifieds some time ago and got few nibbles, but I had a massive remorse and quickly retracted the sale. I was on the roll selling things off that time, but I am really glad I snapped out of it before making the mistake. If you are into Bauhaus design, then you can't go more Bauhaus than this.

Max Bill watches

Sug,
I got myself one of these a few years ago:
http://www.junghans.de/en/junghans-c...el/detail.html
although I changed the strap to a black leather NATO strap more recently.
I see in fact that they still make your model. Might have get one.
http://www.junghans.de/en/junghans-c...el/detail.html
The graphics are more to my liking, although I would prefer a white face.

As a co-founder, and one of the moderators of the WUS Chinese mechanical watches forum, I have hundreds of these vintage Chinese watches made since late 1950's. The two shown were made in early 1960's and 1970's in Beijing and Shanghai respectively. I actively collected them for a few years since 2005 for historical documentation, and most gained value since then.
