Mr. Henry Smith who has a morning route collecting beer cans in South Apopka. He takes them to the recycling center once a week to supplement his income. He was 86 when I made this photo of him in the street at work. He was just discharged from the hospital four day earlier from some internal surgery.

A quick note about the last one: some told me that I have "over-photoshopped" that image. In reality, I have barely touched that photo in Photoshop. The guy was sitting in a deep shadow and was looking out to a sun-lit parking lot with white pavement, hence the bright white eyes.

Pam Bridges, a very well know party lady around South Apopka. She has not been around lately. I suspect she is once again an involuntary guest in government facilities. She asked if I could do a nice portrait of her for her family. This was shot in front of Apopka city hall. She commented that she had never been on that side of the building. The police department is in the back.

Hi Bob,

Interesting story about your subject.

Perhaps a theme for an album?

Yordanka Harambouru Zaldivar who is "sort of" my wife. The Cuban government considers us as married but "without papers" as we have no official registration. At least I get the benefits of being married to a Cuban. This photo was on our first real date just over 4 years ago although I had known her for a year and a half.
