1. Nikon F4
2. Nikon F6
3. Rolleiflex 2.8
4. Rollei 35
5. Linhof Technika

All of them have set benchmarks in their class at the time.
And the Rolleiflex 2.8 (also in its last model which was produced until 2014) is still the benchmark for TLRs up to today.
I think the same is valid for the current model of the Technika.
And the Nikon F6 is still the current benchmark for 35mm SLRs (and hopefully Nikon will continue to produce it for many years to come).

These aren't in any particular order, because, you know, horses for courses.

Leica M9-P: it's my "magic camera," as my family says. Every time I pick it up, I feel the responsibility to up my game to match the Leica legacy. Goofy and romantic and mildly delusional, I know, but hey, the placebo effect is real!

Polaroid SX-70, original version. Thanks to the Impossible Project I can use it again, even if it's nearly as expensive as shooting with sheet film. I like to shoot portraits with it, photograph the SX-70 photograph, and then give my subject the original.

Olympus XA, original version, bought brand new by my dad when it came out. It fits in my purse. It was a gift from my dad. It makes fantastic photographs. It's fun to use!

Leica M4-P. What can I say? It's just the right weight for me, I can use it with all of my M lenses, it's gorgeous, it fits my hand like a well-fitted glove, and it's the camera that saved Leica. I love it. And I got it got $600.00US. I usually keep a '74 Jupiter-8 50/2 on it ($30.00US at a camera show), and that combo is kind of magic.

Fujifilm X100. It's just like my Canonette QL-17 GIII, only digital. It's magnificent, in an understated way.

I've done loads of work with my Nikon F3, but you know, it was a workhorse, but I'm just not that fond of it. I preferred the OM-2 that one of the newspapers I worked at issued me. So, add the OM-2 to my list of favorite cameras. (Boy, I buried the lede on that one...)

Hi,

Well, um, I'd do a list but the touble is that my favourite cameras are not the ones I use the most... So I'm sort of stuck in limbo.

Contax T3
Leica Monochrom
Voigtländer Bessa IIIW

These are also unique, and deliver the best combination of image quality, usability and size/weight.
The rest is cool, but in the end pretty interchangeable - adding two more would make me think of three others as well.

This looks just like threads where someone asks what camera to buy. There, too, the responses are all over the lot.

My favorite camera, the one I would run back into my house to get if the house was on fire, is probably my Canon FX. Sentimental value. Followed by my Yashica 635 TLR, same reason.

My favorite cameras in terms of the ones I use seem to show where I'm at with photography at the moment.

1) Pentax K-50
2) Pentax *ist DS
3) Pentax K-x
4) Yashica Lynx 14
5) Konica I post-WWII fixed-lens rangefinder, Hexar 50mm f/2.8

I do shoot mostly digital these days, and I love my Pentax dSLR cameras, especially the oldest ones (feel great in my hand, everything just seems to be where I want it to be in terms of controls). I've just moved to a new house and am digging out my camera gear and will be setting my B&W darkroom and film scanning equipment back up as a winter project. Hope to do more with B&W in 2019.

1. 8x10 Eastman View No. 2 - something about 8x10 B&W images made with vintage lenses
2. Rolleiflex 2.8C Xenar - wonderful MF, including portraits, without SLR size and weight
3. Exakta 66 - big enough to mount 180mm f/2.8 Zeiss Sonnar for MF portraits
4. Leica M3/M4 - classic 35mm film image look and the solid feel of machanical quality
5. Nikon F3HP - the best “get out of my way” ergonomics 35mm shooter
9. Nikon D800 - documentation and assignment workhorse with low light capability

I tend to be a one-camera at a time guy so my list

1. Olympus OM-4T (love the metering system) - had a pair for a decade.
2. Nikon D2H - was my workhorse pair while working as a newspaper shooter.
3. Nikon F100 - my first foray into autofocus
4. Fujifilm X100S - my retirement camera w/both TCL and WCL
5. My dad's 1972 Yashica Electro 35 GS that I still shoot with

Cool

1. Leica M5
2. Nikon F2
3. Ricoh GR 1 (film camera)
4. Ricoh GRD 1 (8mp digital)
5. Ricoh GR 2 (new gen; 16 mp digital)

F2 replaces FM3A.
Ricoh GR 2 is there because it started me out on photography; I prefer the older GRDs now.
I have other cameras but I still need an extended period of time with them to know if I love them.

What I posted in 2017:

- Leica M6
- Leica ME
- Zeiss Ikon rangefinder
- Epson R-D1x
- Fuji X-100

All in use today -well, the M-E is undergoing a sensor replacement. Two years later, I'd add the Fuji X-H1. I know, not a commercial success but a fantastic camera nevertheless.

The 2 camera I instantly felt comfortable with are
1. Leica M2
2. Nikon F3HP
They are both the perfect weight and ergonomics for me.

Digital
1. Mp240
2. Canon 6d which doesn’t get used as often, but when I need ultimate reliability in the dark it’s the one I grab. I still love it’s sensor for some reason.
3. Xpro2 gets an honorable mention as a fun camera.

Definite favorites from the past...
