Jupiter-8 (1957 chrome version) on my Leica M 240. Superb performance for the price, in my opinion.

Another one: Jupiter-8 on my Kiev-2, again from 1957. Absolutely nothing to complain about with this lens. This was shot with Tri-X at 200, developed in D-76.

Comparison between a Jupiter-8 and post-war Carl Zeiss Sonnar / Opton 50mm F1.5 ... slightly different colour-cast and contrast between the two lenses. Jupiter-8 on the left, Zeiss Sonnar on the right.

Camera: Kiev 2a
Film: Fuji Superia 200

Picked up my first Jupiter-8 online recently and was disappointed when it arrived as the focus was stiff enough as to be unusable. Gave it a full CLA using the Kim Coxon instructions (what a lifesaver!) and couldn't be happier now that I've got my first test shots back. Focus seems to be bang on across all apertures and distances and there's not a single mark on any of the glass. Very impressed by this inexpensive little beauty.

Shot with R3A on Fomapan 400, developed in Fomadon (Rodinol), scanned through V750.

(Apologies if anybody noticed the multiple attempts at posting this, I couldn't get the image to embed.)

one more:

1955 Jupiter-8 at f2.8 with H-4 ND filter (FSU nd filter)
on Portra 160 (shot @100). CLE. Lab scan (Frontier SP-3000)

Maybe the FSU ND filter took away some sharpness, but still very happy about how this J-8 renders volume.

Three dusted off (literally) from the last roll that'd been hanging in the office for the past 6 months.

All Contax II (1936), J8 (1955 serial number from memory).

I recently acquired a Zorki-6 with a Jupiter-8 lens and after my two test rolls (Zorki had a light leak that necessitated some diagnosing) I'm very happy with the Jupiter. With Tri-X/HP5+ and Rodinal I get what to me is a very pleasing old-timey look.

Tri-X in Rodinal 1:25. Very grainy results (I may have to reduce agitation in the future), but I like this one.
