Screw fell off from front of Leica M4

Hello RFF

a screw fell from the front of my M4, the screw that go over the vulcanite. I was just hoping someone would know if this will let some light inside the camera and film chamber or if it is ok to use it as it is?

Thank you

I would put a piece of non translucent tape over the hole while searching for a replacement.

I think it's more something to do with the last tech who worked on the camera, everything was loose (self timer came off etc...) now it's the damn front screw...

Most long in the business camera repair techs will sell you a proper fitting replacement screw from their parts box.

Try DAG for instance.

unscrew another one and see if you can find a matching pair in hardware stores.

Put some black electrical tape over it and it will be fine.

if you have a smart phone, make a photo where the screw is missing and email to a repair person like DAG or Youxin.

And don’t miss this chance to pimp it out, stainless steel screws are likely available in that size.
