Is a username change possible?

Hi there

Is it possible to change my username? For what ever reason when I signed up years ago, understatement was my chosen name! Is it possible to change, or should I just create a new account?

Thanks,
Peter

I don't think you can, but I think the moderators or Stephen Gandy (RFF's owner) can do it for you.

It was possible for me over at APUG (of course I asked mods nicely), but they run different engine so who knows. Drop Stephen an email.

Yes, your name doesn't represent you well. It's an understatement.

Sorry, I couldn't resist that.

.. don't we already have a flamboyant?

When I joined Sparrow was the first thing that came to mind ... I thought I could change it later but never found out how, I've got accustomed to it now

It can be done. What would you like it changed to, Peter?

Hi all!

Thank you all for your replies!

Russell, I couldn't agree more, it doesn't represent me well! I picked that name at the time, as I was listening music by a band called 'Age of the Understatement' and decided it would be perfect!

How times change!

Hi Doug,

Thank you for posting here, it would be great if you could change it to my name (assuming spaces are allowed?) 'Peter David Grant'

Thank you so much!

Peter

Maybe we should vote on whether to allow each change. Actually I like the sound of "michaelbialecki.' Seems Ukrainian, maybe?

Me too, me too!
I thought it was not possible.
BTW Pistach comes from a typo.
I want to be "PaulDalex" which is an English translation of my name and last name.
How do I send a message to a moderator?

Ha Ha, thanks Rob. It's actually a Polish last name. Big thanks for changing my name, I really appreciate it.

cheers, michael

I'll take that as a request... You are now "PaulDalex" on RFF!

Best wishes

What I think would be very useful is if the user’s public profile listed superseded usernames as a matter of course, and maybe the date(s) of the change(s).
