Thanks Paul, it was quite pleasant shooting it. Film is in the developing tank, hopefully I will develop it tonight and see what this puppy is capable of.

How the Soviets made the perfect evolution of the Leica II to a SLR that nobody in the west managed to do... And way before the Nikon F!!

A KMZ Zenit-S from 1958, the evolution of the original 1952 Zenit just with flash synchro. It's beautifully engraved as made in the USSR in the back.

Early Cron

Just got this early 50mm Summicron R For my original black paint Leicaflex! User cosmetics with crystal clear glass, and its been 3 cam'd to boot! Its perfect for this camera and probably will be permanently attached to it.

Before you make your mind up try the 60mm Macro Elmarit, I use one as on my SL MOT. Do you still use your motor?

Yes thanks! I don't really need any more gear, but price wasn't bad, it's been 3 cam'd so I can use it on any R camera, and just the thought of this early version on this particular camera sounded perfect!

Both versions of the 50 Summicron R are great performers. As are both versions of the 90 Elmarit. A couple years ago I got rid of the "version one" lenses, keeping only those that took the "universal" 55mm filter. I know, silly.

The TL Electro X ITS was my first camera, I have a sentimental attachment to the brand. I think that I like the J bodies better than the later cameras now, though.

The Pilot 6 is rather simpler.

I have a Reflex Box that needs a new mirror, but unfortunately it seems to be missing whatever piece held the mirror in place. I don't know if you'd be willing to remove the ground glass on yours and get a picture of whatever fixes the mirror in place, but it would help me.

Either than or I have to wait for an absolutely crap one to show up on eBay, and buy it to find out.

If I can figure out how to do it without breaking anything, I will. I have a friend who has done this, I will see if he has photos.

I have a Pilot Super, this camera seems simpler than that. I have no Pilot 6 for reference.

My friend informs me that the mirror is glued into place. He will take pics when he is done with the roll currently in camera.

The 5 is a stunning camera. Bought it new back in the late 90's and still hasn't missed a single shot!

Not a big fan of metered Fs when I used them in the past -- too big, too bulky -- but I have come to appreciate those with an eye-level prism. It handles like a different camera.
