Leica Q-P

Leica Q-P teaser here

"It lacks the Leica red-dot logo, but features a discreet, classic Leica script engraved on the top plate, matte-black paint finish and a redesigned shutter release button. "

Let's be kind and let this thing fade into oblivion already.

Can they just make the “-P” versions the regular versions? They always look better.

I cannot imagine a camera I'd be less interested in. A super expensive, fixed lens, digital camera, with premium price because of added engraving. Got an email from PopFlash about it this morning. Meh.

Best,
-Tim

Say what you want... It is expensive, but at least it is a good camera that is unique.

On paper I should love this camera, but the red dot tax has always made me dismiss it.

Looking at the photos in the blog post, the output is so full of noise and skies falling apart that I'm happy to stick with my GRII

The Q is a good if not a somewhat quirky camera, little doubt in that. There are plenty of good cameras that are unique that's also not that expensive. In fact there is no need to spend to make it unique at all. I could just, for example, use it to make it mine and mine only.

If you buy the uniqueness you're on the right track of Leica's perceived model of consumerism.

Funny thing is this would be quite a viable product should it come the year before. Now that the Q is near the end of its product life, why pay full price plus the added "-P" cosmetic premium instead of waiting for like half a year more for the Q2 (of which the rumors are already out)? I assume the Q-P is made a special edition exactly because Leica is aware of that too...

It's also missing a fake wind lever. I guess they are saving that for the Q-D.
