ROLLEIFLEX T TESSAR 75mm F/3.5 K8T2 Stuck shutter issue

hi! I'm new to the rollei and recently purchased the ROLLEIFLEX T TESSAR 75mm F/3.5 K8T2. Everything seems to be working fine, but the shutter and the wind crank seem to be getting stuck half way through the roll. It seems to be working fine and firing with no film in it. Do you guys think it needs to be serviced?

Do you have a roll you can use as a tester? If not, put a couple of wraps of masking tape on one end of the spool, on the inner rod up to the edge of the flange. When you look inside the top chamber of the back, you'll see a silver small-geared wheel on the left end. You want that wheel to ride on the masking tape.

Now the camera will act as if there is film in the camera and run the counter. Give it a shot. If the counter does go forward, even if it jams at some point, does the counter reset to 0 when you open the back?

Sometimes it's a matter of exercising the camera. Most likely you are heading to a cleaning and overhaul of the drive system.

What Dan said, but a service is probably in your future. Embrace it, afterwards your Rollei will be like a new camera.

thanks guys! will give it a shot. Seems like maybe I put the film in crooked. Just getting back into film and never used a medium format and defy not a Rollei, so hopefully that's all it was. Really appreciate your help. thank you!
