M9-P Black Paint Discontinued

Wow, wasn't expecting that so quick. Thought Leica was going to discontinue the M9 first, then the M9-P. Was hoping to save up enough for the Black Paint M9-P before they all disappeared, but no such luck.

According to B&H Photo, the Leica M9-P Black Paint has been discontinued.

Well they ceased producedion a couple months ago (so I guess that's technically discontinued), but there are plenty black M9Ps out there at authorized dealers...

In Leica terms, yes. For those that ordered early hopefully from February-March, for the rest of the world maybe in October.

If the M-E was painted black, there might not have been such a rush to grab a black M9 or M9-P before they were all gone. If Leica intended to clear the M9 and M9-P stocks ASAP they succeeded.
Now they face an income gap, with just a trickle of M-E sales, until the M-240s start shipping.
