I have the Ultron f2, it's a fantastic lens. It renders colors/contrast and flare resistance similarly to my Zeiss Planar, very modern.

It's just not to my taste for color, I like the more modern look from my Planar ZM and 35mm Ultron f2. I shot some slide with it as well and it was just okay. I do like the lens though and would...

It's a bit soft outside the center at f/2, there's visible distortion (up to you if that bothers you or not) and it flares pretty badly. Mine also needed a slight focus adjustment as it was...

I'm really considering this lens, it would be a good match to add to the rotation of my 35/50 combo. The size isn't really an issue, and it looks like it would work on an M5, the rear element doesn't...

I had some excellent results, I just wish I could have bought more. For me 25 ISO, HC-110B for 5 mins did the trick. The finest grain I've ever seen in 35mm and beautiful tonality, if you shoot it...

I don't have a ton of examples yet, I've mostly been shooting through my Provia stash. Plus the harsh california summer light isn't the best for slide. I quite like what I've gotten so far though....

Agreed, 1.7 is not the same thing as 1.4, also the odd knurled chrome body is off putting to me. The TTartisans lens looks like it performs very well and it has the classic RF ergonomics. I already...

It's too difficult to try and focus off an improvised ground glass. I ended up adjusting my focus (35mm f2) on film... With the chart it was fairly easy.

Take a couple initial shots, clip off film...

I've been using the f2 Ultron version for the past couple months and it's excellent. It's VERY sharp, the coatings are excellent and it's so small and light. Personally I don't think the 1.7 is worth...

Just a disclaimer none of these are works of art, I've been using medium format for more serious work lately. Also these are in varying stages of soberness, hah, so if there's something out of focus...

I've had mine (I got it used for a great deal!) for a couple weeks now. I unfortunately haven't gotten to shoot much with it, work has been getting in the way of life. I do like the results I have...

It's funny you mention that, it's really true. The lens looks like one of those big white lettered muscle car tires... Not very svelte. Its a very well performing lens though but it's not 100% there...

It really is a nice lens, even not counting in the price. I've shot it 99% on film and some on digital and it really is a very sharp high resolution lens. Rendering wise, it's kind of low contrast,...

Don't worry about doing all that manually, I was very thankful to find a Photoshop action that does the job of inverting and adjusting the color levels to remove the orange mask.
