45mm lens with CLE 40mm framelines?

Thanks. You both have me intrigued now : ) Have to admit though, it would take quite a lens to win me over in comparison to the Contax G 45mm. There is just something about the color and texture of...

45mm lens with CLE 40mm framelines?

Thanks so much for the detailed help! Yeah, I knew the 45mm is more like a 47, so I figured it would probably be too tight for the CLE framelines but seeing as the 50mm lines seem so tight on my M2 I...

45mm lens with CLE 40mm framelines?

Just wondering if anyone who owns a CLE can give me an idea of how conservative the 40mm framelines are. I'm adapting a Contax G Planar 45mm to M mount and am wondering if the 40mm lines on the CLE...

Cause of dim finder in M2?

I've had an M2 for a year or so and I feel like the viewfinder must be dimmer than normal. I see a lot of people having issues with a dim rangefinder patch, but on my M2 it's so bright that in a lot...

What's up with Leica lens minimum focus markings?

Couple questions:

1. What is the reference point for the distance markings? The film plane or the lens mount?

2. Where should I line up the markings for checking rangefinder alignment? I.e., is it...

I recently picked up my first Leica, an M2, plus 35mm Summicron V4, 50mm Summilux V2, and an M-Rokkor 40mm f/2 and am trying to understand how these lenses are SUPPOSED to behave regarding focus...

Thanks everyone! While I'm at it, is it also normal for there to be an extra 1/3 stop or so after f/16? I.e., after f/16 the aperture ring turns a bit more (but less than 1/2 stop) and the aperture...
