35mm film cases

Who makes the 35mm film case, that holds two rolls and looks kind of like the AirPods Charging Case?

Rob-F 06-10-2019 19:06

Got a picture of it?

dourbalistar 06-10-2019 19:08

Rollei used to sell 2-packs of their film in a little hard case, but it seems to be discontinued. You may be able to find some on the big auction site - search "Rollei Universal Case".

Not quite as sleek looking as an AirPod charging case, but Butter Grips makes Butter Bean film cases that are functionally the same, available in 2- or 3-roll sizes:

jmarcus 06-10-2019 19:58

@dourbalistar not what I was thinking, but the two pack is similar. I'll keep an eye out for them. Kind of figured everyone had them...

Thanks to all that replied

The Canon AS-6 underwater camera kit comes with a nifty waterproof ORANGE two-roll film container with belt clip. The lids are screw-on with replaceable rubber o-ring. Each can has a separate lid.

Take a look at this auction for an example:

Minolta had a similar type in yellow that came with their all weather cameras.

Found this interesting looking prototype:

I have those from time I bought >100 Rollei films. Great stuff. I think it was available at macodirect as empty containers as well.

I believe Adox offers some film in 2x plastic containers.

jmarcus 06-11-2019 14:38

The Rama stuff looks awesome! Its funny, I thought someone was going to reply with dude google it I found it one second. So none of these are the ones I was thinking of, but I'll keep looking. If I can order the Rama stuff I will.

The manufacturer is a Japanese Company called U.N Company Ltd. They still offer some of the two-roll film holder according to their web site but Yodobashi Camera does not list them as available in their on-line shop anymore. Might be better to send an email to ask about availability.

Here is a link to the U.N. webpage (English) http://www.un-ltd.co.jp/en/index06.html#film

Those 120 cases are beautiful. I would buy several if I could get my hands on them.

Try to send them an email. They seem to send overseas.

Nikon & Minolta sold cases that held two rolls of film. They were waterproof and rugged. The come available on the auction site.

Fred R. 06-11-2019 19:34

Have I come in in the middle of this movie? Doesn't every roll of 35mm film come with it's own plastic case? Tape two or four of them together, alternating the caps left and right and be done with it.

Sorry, we need the tape for "stealthing" up our cameras. ;)

JoeLopez 06-13-2019 09:41

I had a set and sold them on ebay last summer, trying to remember the brand to share.

I just found these while searching?

Yes! That is what I was thinking of. I have one buried in a box somewhere around here.

@dourbalistar I think the black case you posted, is it.

Hopefully you can source it domestically. The shipping costs from Germany seems quite high, if that's the only thing you're ordering - 25 base price, plus 2.5 per kilo.:eek::eek:

Rama works are on sale today

Mugn 08-21-2019 14:20

A bit on the off-topic side of things, but has anyone found any good bigger film cases? I have few of the JHC-cases and they are good but some times after opening a bulk roll of film it would be nice to have few ones holding 15-20 or maybe a bit bigger.

I'm with you on this. Especially seeing the absurd price of $95.00  for the Rama product.

What kind of sucker takes this bait?
