View Full Version : W/NW: Lights in the Night (New Year's)

Consider my kickoff image as something of a placeholder to start things here, on account of (1) my shooting film (and Gold 200 at that), and (2) my having to leave the driving, scan-wise, to CVS later in the morning, as my main desktop rig is sitting disassembled in my new abode, awaiting my arrival with the rest of my stuff (snowstorm-delayed, as was my ill-fated Kodachrome shipment to Dwayne's), leaving me mostly scanner-less for the first time in years. Looking forward to seeing those scans. The conditions in Propect Park were near-perfect: temperature hovering around 40° F, no wind, and clear skies.

Anyway, wherever you were when they shot the 'works, let see your shots!

My weapon of choice, roughly an hour ago.

Didn't really shot the 'works here, but these are from where I were.

Happy New Year everybody!

Still feelin' for ya 'bout the Kodachrome thing. 'nuff said.

Much obliged. I'm getting over it...slowly.

What is that zoomy thing on the OM2n?That be a Sigma 21-35mm f/3.5-4.5, which (I've been told) is relatively rare in OM mount. Snagged it off the 'Bay a few years back, then discovered the (permanent) lens hood was oriented the wrong way! A trip to Nippon Photo Clinic in Manhattan took care of things, but the cost for that made the lens a bit less of a "bargain." Still a good optic, though. Results shortly.

Thanks Barrett.

I also sent my last roll of Kodachrome to Dwayne on Monday via USPS. Have not heard anything yet… :p

From last night:

Tree of Lights, Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY, January 1, 2011

(Technical: Olympus OM-2n, Sigma 21-35mm f/3.5-4.5, Kodak Gold 200, f/11 and really "being there")

I have a few more interesting snaps on that roll, but I like this one best.

Conditions in Prospect Park were perfect for a New Year's night. Great band as well.
