View Full Version : Olympus 35 SPn value

12-16-2009, 11:07

Long time no see.

I am trying to figure out how much my Olympus 35 SPn is worth, but the paucity of eBay auctions and general rarity of the camera itself is making it difficult to determine a fair price. Any ideas? It's in excellent shape, but I just don't use it anymore.

Hope y'all have been well.

Thanks, Melanie

You've been missed. Sorry I can't help you with your question. Your are right, I haven't seen one for sale for a while. This being RFF, no doubt someone(s) can answer your question.

I payed $130 for an SP this past summer. So, I know yours is worth more than that.
Welcome back.

I sold one which was cosmetically so-so after it had a professional CLA for 75 euros three months ago.

Here in Scandinavia they are sold from $100-$200 depending on condition. I have seen them sold higher on ebay, but at the end its all up to whoever seeks them. i have one, perfect condition, but i wouldn't pay $300 for it. Thats what i paid for my perfect condition Leica CL...

$160 bin here: http://cgi.ebay.com/OLYMPUS-35SPN-35MM-RANGEFINDER-G-ZUIKO-1-1-7-42MM_W0QQitemZ230413274336QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_De faultDomain_0?hash=item35a5b38ce0

seems i was a little optimistic.

Over the last three years, I've bought and sold two of these. They both cost me $100-$120 to buy and sold for almost the same, either way.

Definitely a camera that can hold its value. As for increasing in value...perhaps not as a rule, yet. They're great for the money, IMO best-in-class.

For $50 + shipping I'll take it off your hands and save you the hassle of listing it, etc. ;)

Seriously, I'm agreed with the $130 - $160 range. If the talk on RFF and other forums heats up, maybe more. :D

I can't answer your question, but I'm glad to see you back!

Thanks guys -- it's a nice camera and it should be in the hands of someone who will actually use it. It's in great shape and the meter is accurate if used with an adapted Wein cell. Am also thinking of selling a black OM-1, but those are going for so little these days I'm not sure it's worth it.

Just checked the completed items listings on eBay for the last 60 days....

About a half dozen sold in prices ranging from $87 to $150. There are currently 3 or 4 listed... two with BuyItNows of $179. You may want to watch those. To see all of them search olympus 35sp and 35 sp

To see the ones that sold and get final prices you need to log in and switch over to "completed listings" on the left sidebar.
