i bought this little beauty (olympus 35 ec) a few weeks ago but can't find anything on the web about it. specifically a manual. any suggestions on where i can find a manual? or maybe someone who knows a bit about this camera can give me some tips. 'cause there's a yellow light that lights up when you half push the shutter button down but i don't know what it's supposed to tell me.

thanks in advance. oh, i put a few pictures of the first film i developed on my flickr. critic is welcome.

I have two of those. I could not find any manual online for free downloading. However, I did find an EC2 manual and downloaded some time ago. Now, I can't open it for I have misplaced the password to open it. I did figure out the purposes of the yellow light on the left side of the top plate, which is linked to the light inside the viewfinder. The first one is to serve as a battery check light when you push the shutter button half-way. Then, if the lighting is insufficient for picture taking, it would serves as a low light warning as you push it further down. If there is sufficient light, the light would go away as you push down the shutter button.

I had the same problem. See if you can find a manual for the Olympus ECR instead. It's the rangefinder version, and the EC is the scale-focus version. Other than that they seem nearly identical.

I finally found the site again which has manuals for a number of Olympus compacts: http://www.pentax-manuals.com/manuals/range/range.htm It has a manual for EC2 which is essentially the same as EC. The password is supplied at the site.

There's a bit of information here. I use the same battery solution on a couple of my Oly RF's and it works fine.
