View Full Version : Todd & Wayne's Nifty 50s Head to Head
Todd traded The Beast and was left without a 35mm lens. A situation he will no doubt correct soon enough.
In my ongoing effort to unclutter my photographs, I offer Darrell on bass. Obviously cropped. Is that fair?
Nikkor 50/1.4 wide open.

Todd,
Does this qualify as uncluttered? 50 Summicron. All of these were shot with Ilford XP2 Super.

Wow, Wayne, this shot sure belies comments about the bad bokeh of that lens. I see little evidence of that in this image although there are some little swirlies from the bar lights underneath the bar just to the left of the bartender. Makes me want to go right out and start shooting with this lens. And have a drink. And admire a bartender or two! ;)
The "swirlies" are from a rope light. A total NIGHTMARE in this photo for sure. To be honest, this is the first photograph from this lens that I really like. I need to shoot with my Canon SLR 50/1.4 and the Nikkor side-by-side.
One more from the bar. I'm not thrilled with it. I need to go back to SRO. Practice! Practice! Practice! :D

Old 50 Summicrons. It doesn't get any better.

Great shots from both of you!
