Hi all. I thought it might be fun to do a non-competitive project together on August 31st.

The Project: 11am.
http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2814/9446304724_4bf5111b83_q_d.jpg

What is the 11am Project? It’s an attempt to get a glimpse of the world at one time of day, everywhere. A website will be set up so we can all enjoy the submitted images.

Let’s show everyone what 11am looks like on August 31st. No matter where you are or what you’re doing, share an image. Whether you’re on vacation, gardening, mountain climbing or just walking the city, take a picture as close to 11am as you can and share it. Have your main camera or just a cameraphone, no problem. Snap it and submit it.

Some may try to be at a specific place at the appointed time (probably me) to capture a unique image. Others may just pull the car over and take a picture of what’s around. Some may be watching their kids play a sport, others relaxing at the beach. Enjoying an early lunch, no problem. Whatever it is, take a picture and share it.

I chose 11am as the sun shouldn’t be too harsh in most areas, anything closer to Noon would get nasty fast, and it’s not too early so you can get to where you want to shoot without waking up at an ungodly hour.

There will be NO JUDGING, no prizes, no awards. Instead this is being done to allow all of us to see, and enjoy, what the world looks like at a certain time of day.

Please take your image as close to 11am as possible. A few minutes either way is fine, 2 hours later is not.

Time: 11am on Saturday August 31st. Your local time.
Where: Wherever you are.
What: Anything you find interesting at that time.

How do I submit my photo?
It’s so easy. Just submit it via the form on this site: http://11amProject.blogspot.com
Or
Tweet to #The11amProject with shot location info and first name if you like.

Rules:
Image must be taken as close to 11AM on August 31st as you can.
It’s that easy.

By the way... no rules for this one other than size or dimensions. Take it with whatever you want, film or digital, it's all good.

Phones, Lomo, Rangefinders, SLRs, Medium format, Large format, glass plate...whatever. Break out the pinhole if you like!

Let's make this a fun shared experience, no contest associated with it.

I may be at a market as well. We have a real pleasant one in the heart of our downtown every Saturday morning, all year round. I am going to put an alarm on the iPhone for 10:55AM. At the very least, that is usually always within arm's reach!

That's exactly what I was going to do but given the wide time difference between Asia and the Western US someone was going to be shooting at 2am. I was originally going to call it the "One Moment Project".

One week from today (for those of us in Western time zones). Below is a reminder of what it's all about.

Tell your friends and your family, anyone can take part.

Or
Post to Facebook on the 11am Project Page.

RFFers... take 5 minutes out of your day to take part in a project. Read below for full details but here is the nitty gritty:

At 11am this Saturday (local time, wherever you are) take a picture of the world around you. No matter where it is, what you're doing, just take a quick picture. Remember, someone from around the globe might be peeking in so try to give them a feel for where you are.
Upload your image. You can post it right here in this thread, upload it on 11amproject.blogspot.com, tweet it to #the11amProject or post it on the 11am Project Facebook page. Your choice.
Done.

Take part and have fun! :)

My daughter is hosting a skincare party for her classmates, and I (and our youngest son) are catering - and photographing for the 11am project.

We did cheat - Canon DSLR using liveview. Even a four-year-old can use it!

On the other hand, at 11am I was photographing the 4yo using the DSLR. I'll post that photo to this thread after the film from the Hexar RF is developed.
