View Full Version : Print Swap Fall 2012

09-15-2012, 06:56
Dear RFF friends,
it is time for another print swap, here are the basic rules:
1) prints should be sized around 8 x 10 inches
2) silver halide prints (for B/W) - lab prints (for colour) - inkjet prints are accepted; feel free to chose the print method that best represents your photographic work
3) after sign ups are closed, I will draw the names and post the list in this thread. Each pair should try to mail the print within a week of notification
4) in case of an odd number of participants, one group will contain 3 names so that everyone is involved. If so, these 3 participants will make and mail 2 prints but they will receive 2 prints
5) please consider this is an international project: you may be paired with a participant from a far country, so be prepared to pay for international postage accordingly
6) sign up will close on September 23 2012: the names will be drawn and then I will notify everybody of their partners. If you have joined previous editions, please let me know who you have been paired with and I will form another pair accordingly.

To sign up, PM or email me (mauphoto AT leonardo DOT it) with the following data:
RFF user name
email address
real name and surname
mailing address
previous swap partners (if applicable)

The swap is a great way for sharing photographic knowledge and experiences (and for making friends!), therefore it depends entirely upon the user participation: the more participants involved, the more fun and variety everybody has.
I do hope everything is clear, by the way do not hesitate to ask for any further question.

To Moderators: can this be made a sticky? Thanks;)

Nice! Excited.

How do I always manage to exactly miss these things? :(

09-26-2012, 12:21
The e-mail was sent today... because I received it. So, do we just choose whatever photo we want and sent an 8x10" to the person you've been assigned?

Dear friends,
I have received a late subscription from another RFF member: is there a participant who would like to swap with this late subscriber?

Another couple of RFF friends have joined this Print Swap: three cheers for Ron (Netherlands) and CaptZoom!
I must confess this Print Swap is a successful project: I do hope that all participants are happy with it.

I have received a wonderful print from mfogiel: he is a talented photographer indeed!
what about the other participants?

11-05-2012, 14:30
I have received from jesse1dog and they were very very interesting. We had also time to exchange new ideas too. Thanks again Jesse1dog.

11-08-2012, 00:42
I got my prints today from Pobe. He is a generous man and sent me two print instead of one. I am so happy.
Thank you Pobe for prints and Mauro for organization.

My swap went well and, I believe, my swap partner and I are both happy.

11-08-2012, 06:34
I got a very nice print from Zauhar. It's a street photo from Paris, artfully printed. He included lots of technical details also. That's particularly interesting to me, as I'm trying to hone my darkroom skills.

Many thanks to Zauhar, and Mauro for setting up the swap.

My swap went well and, I believe, my swap partner and I are both happy.
As John's partner, I can definitely back him up on that!

I received a superb print from Dan Crawford. It is larger than the one I sent, because everything is bigger in Texas!

The print is of a wonderful old bridge, I think the image is one Dan posted in the gallery, and he kindly provided both technical details about the print, and also some history of the bridge. As someone who shared an interest in engineering, that was most appreciated.

Thanks to Dan, and to our host Mauro for suggesting this. I will look forward to participating in the future.
