Notes

This is one of those shots you remember taking, I was walking around near the beach and saw this man after finishing a roll of FP4 at box speed. Knowing I needed that shot I went down and grabbed my spare back which had FP4 pushed to 800 from an event at college where I had no choice. I then went and asked for his portrait to which he obliged and quickly remembered my settings for 125 and compensated for ISO 800.
This was during a Charles Dickens festival in which re enactments were taking place and he was sitting down eating his lunch

It's a nice photo of an actor in-character striking a pose for the camera. Composition and that ladder prop work well. What I'd like to see is more of a connection with the viewer - have a look at portraits by Jane Bown to get an idea of what I mean.
