I've seen people describe the 35 pre-ASPH Summilux as a dog. Notwithstanding that, I've always kind of wanted one. There was one on ebay that had a few scratches on the rear element so it was going cheap (though not really cheap enough for a lens with scratches on the rear element) so I followed a whim and bought it. Everyone has his own standards, but this is not what I expect of a 100% crop of an unsharpened file shot with a dog lens wide open at 1600. So maybe it was cheap enough after all.

Powerful color and graphics, contrasted with the vague here/not here figure.

At first glance that critter appears to be carrying an odd contraption on his backside!

Rich but subdued color, human interest, I like it!

I like this shot, with the lady's patterned outfit and kid on back! What would you think of cropping off a bit on the right? Seems to me that might center attention more on the people...
