Description:

Epson rd1s sent to Japan to be adjusted and have shutter replaced so the camera is in perfect condition inside and will run for many more years to come. The body is in used condition with some paint loss on the back of the camera but still nice. This has to be one of the greatest digital rangefinder ever created and one of the greatest cameras I've ever had the opportunity of shooting with first off it has an amazing viewfinders. 1:1 view making it such a pleasure to compose and focus with, and has a contrasty rangefinder patch I would say the viewfinder surpasses if not is up to par with the Leica m3. The cameras color rendition is what really won me over. it makes the closest digital files I've ever seen to have that film look. it captures color very well and when shooting black and white with high iso the photos come out even closer to film with pleasing to the eye grain. Unlike the m8, ISO 1600 is very useable. In my opinion this camera is better than the Leica m8 because of its view finder and secondly because of its light meter that shows you the shutter speed you're on in the view finder as well as suggests the appropriate shutterspeed to use instead of showing wether under or over exposed as it does in the Leica m8. Another advantage of the Epson rd1s over the Leica m8 is the no need to relay on the lcd screen to set the camera up. The camera is completely manual with all the controls being on the camera body like a film camera, no need to set the iso on the lcd like the Leica m8. This is a true analogue camera. A real poor mans Leica m-d. I suggest you google more about the camera to find out more about this gem of a rangefinder. majority of my color photos have been shot with this camera and can be seen on my Instagram @Freenyc or Flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/gritosdelarosas/. Message for more info.

I thought that Epson had terminated their support of the R-d1S several years ago and were only servicing the R-D1X ? When was the work done on your camera ?

I also thought the R-d1S was no longer supported by Epson.
