Description:

This is a very compact camera, if you are used to driving a locomotive.
I am listing this for a friend, and frankly I don't know a lot about Golden Busch cameras. But, once upon a time they were made by Doug Busch in Rockford Illinois, about 1983 to 1986. According to an article in View Camera magazine, only about two dozen cameras in total were produced in 8x10, 11x14, 8x20, 12x20, 16x20, and 20x24 formats. Apparently at least one 40x60 was also produced. In 1983 prices, the "20x24 Platinum View" was $7950 - including special tripod if I am not mistaken. The 20x24 film holders were $395 each -- TWO are included with this camera. I have not found a list price for the Golden Busche 610/12 lens mounted on the camera, but the 1016mm/f16 Golden Busch lens had a modest 1985 list price of only $5250.
FULL movements
FRONT 6" Rise, Infinity Swing, 30 degree Forward and Back Tilt, and 6" Shift
REAR 7" Rise (spring loaded for ease of use), Infinity Swing, 30 degree Forward and Back Tilt, and 8" Shift
I'm not sure how many 20x24 Golden Busch cameras were produced, but obviously with only 24 total over six formats, it is a very low number. The camera seems to be in good working condition, but it has not been used by the present owner.
IMPORTANT: READ CAREFULLY! The camera, lens and tripod probably weighs over 100 lbs. At the moment it resides near Merced California, USA. The buyer, or their representative (such as a shipping company) will have to pick the camera outfit up. Shipping is entirely the responsibility of the buyer at their cost. IF shipped by conventional means, a wooden shipping crate would most likely need to be constructed.
Camera, tripod, two 20x24 film holders and the lens are all sold AS-IS. No Returns. Ask questions! Every effort will be made to describe the outfit accurately, but allow for the fact the owner has little knowledge of the camera.
If you are outside the US, you will need to arrange for a friend or shipping service to pick up the camera and ship it to you. I know, this is a huge negative buying point, but its not like these cameras are easy to find! Thanks for Looking!

Does it take SD or Compact Flash cards? And does the sale include a strap?

Awesome!
Which lens is included? I did a quick calculation and on this format a 610mm is a 35mm equivalent, while a 1016mm is roughly a 60mm equivalent.
This thing belongs on the back of a flatbed truck to be driven cross country. It could have its own darkroom on board so you can produce instant prints on the road.
------------------------------ A few loose screws short of a functioning camera.

Excellent for street photography. Especially since streets are large and don't move.

I was recently at the Muybridge exhibit at SFMOMA - he and Watkins were shooting at this size with glass plates, requiring the portable darkroom! If you pick this up in Merced you are already halfway to Yosemite!

Now that's what I call full frame.

"You can buy a 10 sheet box of 20x24 Kodak Portra NC for only $994 from Canham Cameras "
-its worth every penny.
"You should list this at http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/"
I am sure this is well-intended, but the "head bartender" runs the show here on RFF, and he is doing us a favor by posting it for sale here for us constituents.
