Reliable RD-1 with Complete Set of Functional Extras!
purchased here last fall from RFF member. used for about 1,200 actuations. less than 3,000 actuations total. well-tested, but still young!
Complete with original double box, software CD, tutorial CD, unused strap, and instruction manual and documents. RD-1s firmware upgrade.
Extras include: rare custom side grip (hard to find and a MAJOR ergonomic boost; allows free access to battery slot; $150 value IF you can get it); 2 Epson chargers (cords not pictured), 2 Epson batteries, 3 generic batteries, 1.3x magnifier, mini screwdriver (not pictured), 512 MB SD Card (not pictured).
Cosmetically this is a user, folks. Came to me with some chipped paint, notably around the on/off switch, on the right side, and on the bottom plate. The exterior rubber leatherette covering is secure but seems to have been cut too generously. LCD is protected and unscratched. (Black electrical tape covers the LED operation light on the right side). Hard to notice scratch on body below SD card slot. The side grip adds a look of functional elegance. Cool.
Functionally excellent: Shutter works reliably. No dead and/or hot pixels, nor banding. RF patch clear and bright; framelines are straight. Vertical alignment is slightly off at minimum focus range, but no effect on focus noticed even when using a Nokton 35/1.2 wide open and close. Perfect vertical alignment at infinity. Most importantly, the horizontal alignment is perfect either way. I will include a mini screwdriver for RF adjustment through the hot shoe. (I’ve only had to do this once).
Neat bonus: previous owner had the Exposure Dial lock removed. Now the dial can turn freely 360 degrees in either direction — a small change that brings a welcome increase in functionality.
Avid RF photog who wants an excellent and affordable digital platform to use prized M and LTM mount glass will easily look beyond the cosmetic blemishes to see the extraordinary functionality provided by the side grip, the unlocked exp. dial, the magnifier, and the dual chargers with plenty of batteries — not to mention the joy of using the RD-1 itself!
I found myself using this wonderful digital RF only occasionally, always in tandem with my film RFs, never alone. Conclusion: I prefer film.
$1499 includes all extras, paypal fees, express mail shipping (trackable and insurable; declared value at buyer’s risk/discretion).

I think I had this same type grip on my RD1s, very useful, and rare. Might have good luck also splitting them up.

I paid exactly $150 for the grip, purchased new with the help of another RFF member. I was so grateful for his help I sent him a gift in addition to the money.

Hi Jon, I don't know how long you want to keep this ad here but I've sold the camera with grip to another member for $1250.00, a loss to me but I gave him a more accurate description than "great" and he was well aware of the cosmetic issues. Sometimes people have different opinions of worth, whether it be of things like the grip and eyepiece, or of a camera that looks poorly. I never got an offer for the grip, even though I had it out there for as little as 50.00, and I sold the eyepiece for 40.00, half of it's retail value. I think you made out best in all this. You sold your camera to me at your asking price and nobody interfered in your sale to me. I hope if there are any flames or poor feedbacks from you towards me that you will remove them so we can move on. Thanks, Bob.
