Leitz enlargers are the finest enlargers made. These older ones are precision machined metal enlargers that would sell for a small fortune if manufactured today. The Leitz 35mm enlarger condensers rest on top of the negative, eliminating contrast degrading light bouncing around in the air space between negative and condenser. The precision machined metal castings of the Leitz enlarger ensure that your negative is in perfect alignment every time. Leitz enlargers do not need alignment; their design guarantees it. Leitz enlargers are the fastest operating enlargers made. Leitz enlargers retain their resale value because their utility and aesthetics are timeless. They are not making these precision machines today; the last Leitz enlarger made was plastic. Leitz does not make enlargers today.
This 1c has been rewired to work perfectly. The (ordered as an option) magnifier was bypassed during the re-wire as it is of no practical use.
This 1c includes both the Anti-Newton glass (installed just above the lens mount) AND the accompanying retaining ring just below the condensor. These items were also added as an option by the original purchaser.
Prints made with this enlarger are clear and crisp. They offer a great deal of resolution when used with older Schneider/Leitz enlarging lenses. Newer enlarging lenses may be used with equally (if not more,) outstanding results.
The 150 watt Opal light bulb (obtainable almost anywhere) is standard for this enlarger.
