A newly improved version of this venerable classic, the Tri-Elmar gives incredible versatility & optical brilliance to the Leica shooter who doesn't need the higher speed of the single focal length lenses. The Tri-Elmar is not a zoom, but a three focal length lens offering 28mm, 35mm and 50mm choices with a simple twist. The complicated optical design features two aspherical lens surfaces & results in outstanding performance characteristics. Excellent contrast and good detail rendition even at full aperture is retained with all three focal length settings. Great for travel and leisure photography.
NOTE: If you plan to use this lens on the Leica M6 0.85 model or an older Leica M3, M4 or M4-2 you will need the accessory 28mm bright-line viewfinder #12009. An economical option would be Voigtlander's 28mm viewfinder with brightlines, #45DA411A.
The use of Leica lens hood #12592 facilitates simultaneous employment of filters & shielding.
