Canon LTM Canonet QL 19

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Canonets are great value cameras and worth it, IMO. It seems to be getting harder to find good ones. They are great for photo opps in dodgy or poor conditions that you may not want to subject a more expensive camera to, and they are satisfying to use because of the manual control available. A Yashica T4 takes great shots, but is not as satisfying to use, IMO.

I have found the canonets way too small for my hands.
Those controls on the lenses are tiny. A nice Yashica Lynx 5000e is perfect.

Well, matbe for you guys, but everything is expensive here. I just paid $190 for a Nikon FTn, $170 for a Yashica Electro 35 GSN

I saw the camera. The lens IS Carl Zeiss. The fotometer works. Is that impossible?

Nothing is impossible. But every Canonet left the factory with a fixed Canon lens, that cannot be removed except by dismounting the whole camera. These are not interchangeable lens cameras. It is quite unlikely that the original lens was replaced by a Carl Zeiss one.

Maybe some joker stuck the wrong brand label in order to have some fun? This would be much easier than changing the lens.

I like following up on these mysteries. Could you please take a look at the Canon Camera Museum and try to identify the camera you saw?
