BTW to the extent one can focus on the corners of those examples with the ladies, one can note slight vignetting. The Acall 35/3.5 (and their various rebranded forms) have this tendency - not really objectionable in my view.

David, Nina is my daughter, Thirza her best friend. While my daughter is one of my best friends, her best friend is nearly a daughter. So the answer to your question could be: Yes, and yes.
Thanks for your kind words, I'll pass them on to the girls!
I like that small amount of vignetting too. I'm pretty sure it can be eliminated when shooting without a filter, or a flat-rimmed one. But I never bothered.
I love those small Komuras and Acalls, nice and sharp lenses!

BTW the Telesar 35/3.5 seems to perform exactly like the Acall - not surprisingly since it's the same lens (so it seems at least). I'll post some samples here soon. I also have a few more Acall shots I've found recently -- some back several years - I'll post these as well.
I'm fond of these lenses since I think they are one of the few 35mm LTM lens bargains and the Acall was the first wide LTM lens I owned, but I have no doubt whatsoever that the Leica Summaron 3.5cm F3.5 (an older lens by about 10 years) outperforms it - it is also just as compact if not more so. I think the Acall/Konura/Telesars were an attempt to build a lens similar to the Summaron.
Of course the Summaron usually costs noticeably more for a sample in comparable condition. I own both - perhaps I'll do a shoot out between them!

How's your Acall 35mm coming, did you get the focus to go yet? I guess the period of un-use gunked the lubricants up...? I hope you get going with yours soon, I'd love to see shots!

Hi Johan,
A big kudos to David Murphy, not only was he extremely helpful , but the lens was truly MINT condition .
The grease has gunked up after being stored, for months, in one of my sisters closets . I'm still debating weather to use white lithium, moly or silicone grease on the helical.
As soon as I have time, I'll post some pictures.
Regards,
Robert

Just found a Super-Acall 135/3.5 on the local auction site. Anybody got any sample pics? I'm quite interested in using this as a portrait lens... maybe a little long. Hope I can focus it on my Yashica YF, the rangefinder baseline is not much wider than a Barnack, without the 1.5x magnification.
EDIT: I should note, that I haven't bought it yet, just asking for opinions first! Reserve is pretty low, hopefully I can still afford it once everybody has bid!

I have a Komura 28mm f3.5 lens, love its compact size and only gripe would be, I'm a bit conservative on how to frame the shots due to use of the M3 with the lens, so no appropriate frame lines. But do love its performance.

That is a Sonnar design lens. Very nice and sharp, with a good build quality too. I briefly had one and will try to locate shots I took with it for you! Good luck on winning it!

No shots from this new beauty but it looks pretty cool: Komura 35/2.8 LTM:
Both on a Barnack:
and on an M-camera:

Hi Krosya, did not see your post before, nice set!
I had that lens a while ago and liked it a lot for its build and image quality.
The sheen on the coating for some reason always reminds me of Nikkor lenses, as does the color and contrast. Komura at one time also made lenses for the Nikon RF lens mount, maybe there is indeed a connection.
I'm looking forward to seeing shots you took with the lens!

Komura 35mm/2.8 - Very nice lens it seems. Nothing very solid yet, just a few shots from a dinner out, but already looks good. Sharp and nice bokeh. :
All on RD1S and all wide open at 2.8:

Thank you. Its a nice little lens. Not as sharp as Ultron, has lower contrast, but seems to be pretty smooth in bokeh department and has a pleasant signature. Plus it seems to be pretty rare too.

I've been looking for either the 28 or 35 on ebay and it seems that they are all at high buy it now prices. I am going to Osaka next month, do you think that it would be relatively easy to find one of these lenses in camera shops (if so any recommendations?), or is there actually very limited supply?

I think they are kinda hard to find - took me a while to find mine. Maybe in Japan they do have more availible.
