7 shot stitch with iPhone 4s . The big issue with stitching iPhone pics into Panos is the lack of exposure control. It would be nice to control iso as well. Anyway if you have no other camera with you.....

All taken with the shameful iPod Touch camera. Full res 0.7MP noise-fest in all its glory.

Just got me my first smartphone with a camera. Had an old talk and text, upgraded to a (shriek) Windows phone. Why? I am a sucker. I now have a phone with a Carl Zeiss 28/f2.2 lens. How much better is this lens than any generic cell phone lens? Dunno. It is flare-y and I set the saturation high, contrast low using this setting. Given its propensity to flare, it reminds me a bit like the old Leica Summar I had. Still experimenting with it but two thoughts. First - if you want to take candid photos of unsuspecting strangers? Nothing beats a cell phone. In this regard, it's the best "street photography tool" ever invented. Second? Not a world beater in low light, but results are surprising in decent light. Third - all photos need "a little help" in post. I recommend the "Camera Labs" app in the Windows platform (for all both out you on RFF using it.) Fourth. Why the dearth of noise reduction apps - at least on Windows?

Some decent photos here (posted). Good job.

But if you want a Carl Zeiss name - Nokia/Windows. Nokia has a 41 megapixel cell phone camera out by the way. It's supposed to be amazing. Right now their 42 megapixel "PureView" technology is out there but on Symbian. It's supposed to be migrating to the Windows platform soon. That's my next phone/camera, next upgrade cycle.

Despite the shutter lag it seems to work well for you ! No artificial shutter-sound ?

second Jons comment about quality and convenience. been snapping with "serious" camera on my trip too, but those raw files just stand waiting some light on USB-drive.
