I was just at the local camera store yesterday and they had an M6 Titanium with matching 35mm Summilux...Although I have a black M6, I stood there for a good 20 minutes debating whether or not to purchase it.

Do you really need an answer?

I have the impression that chrome is more rugged. This aside, I think it goes well with a classic. You may use chrome and and black lenses with it w/o breaking the rules of fashion.

I don't know why people ask this on public forums--it's a choice you need to make completely on your own or you will regret. You will always maybe want the other one, despite choosing one over the other, so choose the one you like the most.

edit: reworded for effect :P

An important factor might be the lenses you have. Many people don't like chrome lenses on black.

Hear hear. So young, so sensible.

I think it's to have someone to blame.

Regards,

Bill

Chrome of course, since both chome and black lenses look good on it, and hence it is enlarges the choice of used lenses.

I actually have a chome one for colour film and a black one for black and white, different colours just to easily distinguish them

I wonder what colour to take get if I would add slides as well ;-).

I have a black one and like it. I am going to get a chrome one as a back up. But if I could pick just the one I like black. I just think it looks cool.

Find one with low miles driven only on Sunday to church by a little old lady who never went over 25 MPH. Then buy it regardless of color.

I have one of each purchased in 1985 or so new, but they are not for sale. They are the last cameras that take the brass film cassettes. So don`t ask.

They have less than 50 rolls each on them. Look new from the box. These were the last M cams I bought and will keep them forever.

The M8 is not half the camera these are. I went to Nikon digitals

Definitely chrome albeit mine is black.
Chrome handles chrome and black lenses equally well.
One day I'll exchange mine.

Congrats!! The chrome/silver logo certainly makes this one looks unique!

For me, I would prefer a pair, one in chrome and one in black. I would load the ASA100 (or color film) in the chrome body and the ASA400 (or black & white film) in the black body. This way, it's a lot quicker if you are pulling the cameras out of the bag for a quick shoot as they are visibly different.

Cheers,

They all function the same.

Is this a personal opinion?
I happen to think the opposite.

I was wondering about the black-to-chrome ratio. I see many more black ones on the bay. And the chrome prices are definitely higher.

I have a chrome M3, so it was a natural choice for me to have a black M6. Both cameras are shiny mint, and both are beautiful.

I have a black M6, but I'd prefer a chrome one. Still, I am most satisfied with the M6.

Best regards,
Uwe
