... and my P.
Last week I won a like-new, functional Canon light meter for the P. I expect it this week. So expect an update soon...

I hope the lowly GIII is welcome among the Ps and the 7s.
Please excuse the image quality. This was taken with a friend's digital, cropped from a "family portrait".

airds,
Is that a Petri shoe mount light meter on your VI-L?

Well spotted Wayne - it's also marked Kuribayashi Camera Industry Inc. Japan, so assume it's from around the change of company name. It's cracker, seems accurate and came on the case strap of a nice USD30 FED2b ebay auction win! Pic to follow of the meter if I get a chance. Never could find out much about it, or saw another, so any details welcome. Only thing about it was a pic, near the bottom of this page
A brief company history :-
"Petri Cameras Co. of Tokyo started life as Kuribayashi Camera Works, founded in 1907. The name Petri is apparantly derived from Peter the First; it was supposed to make the cameras more acceptable in overseas markets. The company changed its name to Petri in 1962 and went bankrupt in 1977."
Personally, I think Kuribayashi sounds better .....

The grip is a generic GMP grip. The wriststrap is from Luigi. Together they work wonders handling the camera. You'll see the grip on Back Alleys' P above as well. Beautiful bunch of Ps again. What a pity he sold them all...

Thanks airds,
I have one also that came with a Ricoh 500 and I could not find out much about it either.

HuubL - Where did you find this model grip? The internal link on PhotoVillage is dead, and I don't see them listed on B&H anymore.

I love my Canon S, but I prefer to use my L1 as my user camera. The meter is a rare Canon non-coupled version that I got with my VTDM. I have been told be another well known collector that is only the third one he has ever seen.

people seem to either love these grips or hate them.
put a wtb ad for one here and at photo.net and one of the 'haters' will offer theirs up.
prices vary from about 50 to 70 bucks used.
