Hi,

several forums online have threads on camera bag contents and I've noticed RFF doesn't have one. It's nice to see people's camera's and lenses, but the combination of different gear often tells even more.

What's in your bag?

Allright, I'll kick off then. This is my bag:

Camera's:

• Leica M2, black repaint. Belonged to a German press photographer once. I had it redone in really tough black paint (Thanks, Nobbylon!) and it's totally mine now.
• Leica M4, Banged-Up Edition. A bit rough but it works!
• Ricoh GRD-1. Had if for weeks only but it broke. Gone now. Loved it for the Tri-Xy look when converting 800 ISO shots to B&W.
• Two nylon Konica straps that came with the AutoReflex T4 camera's and that I really love for their secure steel hooks, single buckle and 12mm width

Lenses:

• Super-Angulon 3.4/21mm and finder. Acquired a set of lenses and sold the others for the buying price: free Super-Angulon!
• Summilux-M 1.4/35mm. Made 1982, it had only seen five, six rolls of film back then and then was shelved by the first owner. I bought this last year after saving for an eternity.
• Summilux-M 1.4/50mm pre-1st version. Made 1958 and serial from before the first batch.
• Jupiter-9 2.0/85mm, prototype with original Zeiss optics, agrees with Leica: set to 83.7mm by the factory. It came with a hand-written passport in Russian, written on that typical 60 yr-old cheap Russian paper.

Various:

• Some IXMOO cassettes in their canisters. Filled with Tri-X or T-max 400 most of the time, but often RolleiRetro 100 or 400S as well. I have a stash of 30 IXMOO's, hehe! Color film used is either rebranded Fuji Superia or Kodak Portra.
• El Cheapo flash GN20 that fits all camera's.
• Gossen Lunasix-3 with detachable semi-spot attachment. Brilliant and accurate exposure meter!
• iPhone 4S with apps like Dev Chart, Simple DoF, VelaClock and the compass. Loads of music and photography documentaries on there too. Forgot to include the head set in the picture.
• Some business cards, some pens.
• Currently reading Curzio Malaparte's 'The Technique of Revolution', a 1931-published book opposing fascism.
• A small Billingham that easily fits all the above. It's still a bit too new-looking for my taste but that'll pass too.

Today I was out with the Rolleiflex 2.8e, and my new-old Nikon S3 with a 50/1.4, 35/1.8, and 21/4. I ended up doing most of my shooting with the Rolleiflex, for some reason the square format seemed more suitable for what I was shooting today.

Bizzardkid I also love those swing out Konica straps, I have converted a few of them into wrist straps by making 2 with 1 strap. Also the beater M4 reminds me my beater M3, same condition but soooooo soft.

This my bag below:



The bag is a 1975 Genuine Field jacket model M65 medium size, brand new and impossible to find as new unless you know me
Layed on top are:

-Leica Standard with VC 28mm f3.5 and small finder, loaded with kodak Elite film 100 ISO
-Leica IIIf with Elmar 50mm f3.5, loaded with Kodak Trix 100 ISO
-Leica 90mm f4 and associated Nikkor UW 80mm finder
-2 spare rolls of each film above
-Cheapo cell phone, does the job for me
-Olympus small voice recorder-a great performer even for recording concerts
-The famous Never-break-really reliable-unseperable-POLARIS lightmeter. I have it for 20 years in my pocket and I love to lure the kids saying this is the new generation satelite Iphone-hahahaha

Added on top of that is just pulled from my car: The Beastie boys anthology, Sounds of science

GoodTimes, a true urban guerilla 'bag'! I've been out shooting like that myself and people took me for a bum with an all-lumpy jacket like that, and did not think much of me: perfect!

George: Will you look at those bulbs Did you uncover the US Marines' secret stash of those? They are hard to come by!! Great bag contents!

Sacrilege, but I haven't touched any of my rangefinder cameras in months...
So excuse the distinct lack of them in this photo:


There is a foldex 6x9 and a Demekin up on the top left, which I don't use very frequently, but I didn't want to appear too boring for only using 35mm SLRs. I did though use them this summer.

Most of the cameras and lenses are sitting on a cabinet. I'll take the easy way out instead of digging stuff out to shoot it.

Bag 1: Canon 10D, EF 28-135mm, EF 100-300mm (sometimes an EF 70-300mm) Tamron 19-35mm, Sunpak 422D (sometimes), cheap radio shutter release, cheap radio flash trigger (sometimes) and various filters.

Bag 2: Olympus E510, 14-42mm, 40-150mm, cheap radio shutter release.

Bag 3: Olympus 35RC, Olympus OM2S, OM 50mm, OM 100mm, OM mount Sigma 28mm , OM mount Samyang 18-28mm (sometimes), OM mount DeJur 135mm.
