This fine Friday evening...

Just picked up a very very nice Leitz Minolta CL from a fellow RFF member in person. I really enjoyed the chat as well.

I was mildly thinking about getting a cheap beater CL to mate with 50 and make a small M kit (browsing KEH once in a while) but when the opportunity to pick one up locally for $200, I just couldn't let that pass.

So when a Japanese guy picks up a German Japanese camera, what does he do? Drink some German beer and eat some loafs, sausages and potatoes.

Promptly run a test roll, then realized I misplaced some developing equipment so no developing tonight. Oh well. I at least got some beer.

Flew over the Canadian Rockies in a commercial jet on my way to holidays. Shot some photos out the window with my Hexar RF with Zeiss 50/2 and 160NC film just for fun. We'll see how they turn out. Fingers are crossed!

A bit late to report in, but spent last evening developing and scanning 4 rolls of 35mm (TriX x 2, Neopan400 x 2)

These are both from CL I just picked up, with Summicron 50/2 v5. 1st pic is TriX and 2nd one is Neopan.

Oh, just finished Wimbledon and going back to the Leica IIIF/X1 combination for the week!

The M3 will have a little longer vacation until Tuesday when I have a small paying gig on a follow-up from my last project.

Other'n that....go RF! (Roger Federer)

I will be decompressing from our 22nd anniversary weekend in the White Mountains (New Hampshire) and web-prepping snapshots.

Also, I'll be reviewing my cinematography skills, as I made some digi-movies (the excitement is killing, ain't it ?) of a waterfall.

Been working on some Femi Kuti shots from last week. Taking a break now so that when I go back to them I can make sure that I'm only picking the better ones, and not just editing everything that's in front of me

Did some TLC on my old FE2. Bought it new around 1990(?) when it just came in the shops. A black one with a 35-105 Nikkor zoom. A couple of years later a good 2nd. hand 2.8 24mm Nikkor was added. Together with the Metz CT45 this was photo heaven for me.
This load I carried around for many years till I bought me a digital compact. The FE2 never came out of the bag again until now.
After cleaning, checking, a set of fresh batteries and a roll of film it is ready to capture the world again.
RFF gave me the push back to film.
I like the ease and speed of digital a lot but it never felt like real photographing to me.
