Gallery picks for the week ending ... 2nd April 2012
Gallery Picks is an opportunity for you to post a heads up to what you have seen during the past seven days at RFF that you like.
There's no membership requirement, no criteria (except past seven days), no voting, no limit to the number of photos mentioned, and everybody mentioned is a winner.
Anybody can start the thread on a Monday.
Anybody can join in, it's a community event!
I meant to thank the people who mentioned my images last week but finished up avoiding image heavy threads because of very limited bandwidth ... so thanks to those kind members who included me.
Pete Chipman.
ChEc
lynnb
LIIca
brainwood
photony texas
GraflexLefty
OurManInTangier ... Simon copped a bit of PP flack over this which made it very interesting for me ... and I like the image!

Have always been intrigued with compositional triangulation.

Every week, I am trying to limit myself to 8 picks. And it gets more and more difficult. This week was particularly hard - many thanks to all gallery contributors. Here are my picks:
River through the lava..., by Pete Chipman
A seamans portrait, by stickan1
P1060035, by lynnb
*, by haempe
Sarah, by GeorgeH
By the Sea, Iceland, by Pete Chipman
Nebelbaum, by ChEc
Lower East Side, by Mlehrman
Cheers,
Roland.

I don't try as hard to limit myself as ferider does, but I do try. Still, here are more than 8 picks:
Michael Markey, Jump
gho, R399-120325-6
f16sunshine, MoonFish
israel_alanis, Some expressions
OurManInTangier, The Look Out (had a hard time picking out one photo by OMiT, loving many of them)

My picks from another spectacular week:
Mlehrman, Metapors abound here, fast pace/slow pace, young/old, direction into dark background/direction into light background, assisted step/firm step, and the most telling is their outlook the older man is glancing up and out the younger man head and glance down.
DanT, great color and I like the fall off of the focus to the right of the frame.
2 from OurManInTangier,
The guy with his nose to the frame edge, his expression and the light oh his glasses does it for me.
A lot has already said about this, not much more to add.
print44, beautiful, it's like the light is calling you.
lynnb, That's some color, it just jump out and grabs you and the legs and skirt leaving the scene tops it off.
brainwood, you can just feel the action as the bike heads to the light curved part of the path.
luiman, Lynn found great meaning in this, and I have to agree with all of it and further add that the tilt is perfect, and Intuitive action I'll bet, as it leads the eye to the person whose life has passed them by.
That's it for this week.
