Pretty girl. That first one is gorgeous!
Kentmere is interesting. The grain looks quite HP5-ish.

Leica must have just shipped a bunch of the 35mm FLE lenses. The shop I reserved with called to tell me my lens was in on Thursday (thus the request for pics).

Any others?

more of her here http://bit.ly/ybKcpT . i agree with those who say its not hp5. its VERY grainy, and low contrast, with d76. i prefer rodinal, so i can only imagine how grainy that will be. i'll have to try it! its a cool film, if your intention is for your shots to reflect the film's characteristics. always fun to try new film. BUT if i'd been familiar with the film beforehand, i would have shot her with tri-x.....

i really haven't shot anything using the FLE the way i want to yet, IE. dark, 1.4, pushing film etc. the shot of the building above is at night in the rain, and here's another dark evening rain shot:

Yup, definitely think they shipped a bunch. Just got mine today. So far I am liking the better ergonomics, more intuitive so to say than the previous version. I usually rock in the "no hood" fashion but I can see keeping it on with the FLE.

Time will tell if it's a keeper.

i really like the hood. looking at the video clips of people shooting with it, i thought it was going to be bigger than it is. good size.

Hi,
I like the grainy effect, it mean silver. I don't like silicon.
Kentmere brand
is sold only in US?

Oh nice one! I love the HP5/Rodinal combo.

I picked up the lens it's sitting in it's box right now. Not sure if I should open it or not.
An unexpected finance issue is weighing in this morning. Dammit!

Wow, you weren't kidding. That Kentmere really is grainy, but I guess that could be good if you want to create a mid(20th)-century look. 'Lux looks like a keeper, though.

yeah, i guess you could even say it's a GREAT film, if you're using it for that specific look. i've never used a film that will give you that, straight out the box.

Nice.

Meantime I found it myself! And: the ever-knowledgeable Ken Rockwell says only laymen would call it an FLE lens. 'Laymen' as in 'unlike Ken' kinda people. According to KR it should be called a FAG lens since the whole aspherical rear group floats... Now why would that be a bad idea?

For the next ten years I'll likely go with Mike's explanation of FLE, unless I hit the jackpot!
