Last night, en route to a restaurant, I stopped by a local bookstore. There I picked up a copy of Jonathan Eastland's "Leica M Compendium" for a mere 1,000 yen. This morning, I find that this book is sold on Amazon for over US$200! Why is this book so expensive on Amazon?

Olympus OM2 with winder, T20, T32 flashguns, TTL shoe and cord, random filters etc. and a Tamron adaptall lens. Needs light seals and I had to pay £30 for it, but the Tamron adaptor will net me some money back

Three days in Prague resulted in a fine Flexaret IV and a nice FED-5 with the radioactive Industar 61 lens. Expect my photos to be glowing now !

Oh - and two rolls of Fomapan-100

28 Summicron. I didn't bond with it on the M8 but love it on the M9.

Materials to make some simple camera straps, they are are a good price and I could not find straps as simple as I want. Maybe if they work out I may start selling them for a good low price.

A Fuji F80 EXR digicam. 10X zoom - 27mm to 270, decent high ISO to 800, variable ISO, manual white balance, image stabilization, some limited aperture control and full shutter speed control, EXR technology to improve dynamic range, and a "pro focus mode" that uses some sensor tricks that's supposed to blur out the background (bokeh) for portraits. Film emulation modes: Provia, Velvia, Astia, black and white, and sepia. Fits easily in your pocket. Will buy a Flip-Bak for it to emulate articulated LCD (like I do with all compact digitals). $48 - display model. Didn't come with a battery, waiting for one to come in. Always liked Fuji's approach to compact digitals and their sensor technology, though I won't pay $250 on up for any small-sensor camera - I'll wait and buy a decent fully depreciated one, as always. Add this one to my street photography tools.

That sounds interesting Andrew!
Any pics OF the lens or info about it?

Of course, I never heard about it ;-)

Now to the topic - just a few seconds ago, I paid for a Avenon 21 ƒ2.8 version III Millennium black lens in LTM mount.

I am really curious about this lens and how it compares to the Konica Hexanon Dual 21-35, looking for the best pairing with my beloved Mandler Leitz lenses.

Where did you find it? I just bought a v1 myself. It only close focuses to 1m, while I think yours goes down to .8m. It's a fine lens in my view but so friggin' big!

I picked up a Canon 25f3.5 LTM while in Tokyo last week. Always wanted one of those - dont really know why as I have the 25f4 Nikkor Rf mount and the 25f4 Color Skopar in Ltm and Rf mount already. Not very rational - but it was well priced (about $350).
Also got three (3!!!!) Nikon F3's while there and a 135f3.5 Nikkor with the chrome barrel for yen 200 (about $2.80)!!!!! Oh, two of the F3's had MD-4's on them!

I bought it off the classifieds, after having communicated with the seller for a while.
He took the time, to clear up all the questions, I had - very nice.

Now is waiting for the package to arrive, which is always the worst ;-)
I'll compensate with my new found love to the 35 Lux pre ASPH instead.

@ Tom, it is totally rational, to buy three Nikon f3 bodies, absolutely nothing unusual about that.

… wait … T H R E E ?

Congrats on the new lux, and the 50/0.95 is one hell of a lens, but owning the 50/1 noct makes me like the older version better..

The dark days are coming, time to stock up the darkroom: 20 rolls of Acros, 2 bags of XTOL, 2 boxes of Fomaspeed, a larger measuring beaker and a bunch of brown glass 1L bottles.

M8 from the classifies - (OurManInTangier, great guy) - too bad, hoped, that it'll be a little fun once in a while. Well, its too great and now all my film cameras are afraid that their shutters get sticky......Why did I try this? Nex has been ok., good pictures but missing the RF - feeling. Now M8....I now don't need more cameras, only more time......
