Why is the Bessa III more expensive than the GF679?

The Fuji is $1750, and the Bessa is nearly $2,300.

Why the big difference?

I believe the Fuji is grey market here in the U.S. So, no warranty. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Still it kinda irks me, since I probably could have waited six months to buy and would have taken the risk on the cheaper version.

Great camera either way though. Definitely worth it... to me.

B&H and Adorama carry it.
The bessa3 has a different lens, so they decided price it up higher because of it?

Nope, internally the same device - and black vs. chrome does not account for more than a two digit figure in the making either. Different marketing, that is all.

The Bessa is made in Germany by an old Prussian Empire firm, right? ;-)

The Fuji GF670 and the Voigtlander Bessa III are the exact same camera except for the branding. Mechanically, everything is the same, including the lens. Adorama and B&H sell the GF670 but the warranty is serviced from Fuji Japan. Bessa III has a US warranty if my understanding is correct.

Thanks for correcting me.
Which mean it is not a real Heliar lens (5 elements)?

I am lucky that I gone for GF670, not bessa III.

Same exact camera, including the lens. Just the printing on the camera and lens are different, and the color of the body.

I guess the Voigtlander name is worth more than the Fuji name. Seriously.
