Customize my M6

Well i have been looking for a similar thread but i didn't find anything.
if i'm wrong then i am sorry :$

Thing is, i want to change my M6 winding lever to an MP one.

Can i do it my self?
Can i buy the part a website that sells leica spare part?
(if anyone is interested in selling one feel free to pm me)
If i can't do it my self will a camera technician do or i should send it to someone that is trained for leica?
I always fix my stuff and i assure you i have never fixed something twice.

Lots of threads on the subject, e.g. this one. Get a lever from DAG and a clamp from ebay. Changing the lever takes only a few minutes and is really easy, even I could do it...

Maybe this could help you in case none on the forum have a winding lever to sell, i bought mine on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.it/902-SHUTTER-TRASS...item3361aa2675

It's not cheap but less than one bought in a photo shop (at least here in italy) mine was chrome so i don't know if the black one is the new Black Chrome version like the M6 or the older one, maybe ask them.

It's dead easy. But you MUST have the proper clamp wrench to do it or you'll damage the finish on your camera.

Buy a clam from Micro-tools or Mr.Zhou, the lever on ebay or DAG Or Malcom Taylor/Will Van Manen if you're in Europe

At least you don't have to remove the whole top cover... and if you wanted, now you know how to do it.

Hardly customizing, but I changed the battery cover to a slotted one. Much easier to open.

You could go to cameraleather.com and get it a new skin. Green or blue perhaps?
