As we march on in this new digital world, it is often too easy to forget about the visual importance of the photographic print, as well as their financial importance to the photographer. It is also interesting to remember that some guy named Gene Smith shot with lenses that many lens test reading "never had a picture published in their life" amateurs would turn up their their noses at, as being "unacceptable."

Great b&w work from a Redux photographer
I have an email to him requesting his preferred method of making these images. Prints from this image story were just purchased by the Library of Congress.

Looks like there is still a (small) market for this kind of work...

Thank you for the link. I like the photos a lot, but the reality they show less so. Feels like a far cry nobody wants to hear. Show what we can do just because we can ...
