Photogs / Photo Exhibits This is the place to discuss a particular Photographer (work, style, life, whatever), as well as to post Gallery and Museum Photo Exhibitions and your own impressions of them. As we march on in this new digital world, it is often too easy to forget about the visual importance of the photographic print, as well as their financial importance to the photographer. It is also interesting to remember that some guy named Gene Smith shot with lenses that many lens test reading "never had a picture published in their life" amateurs would turn up their their noses at, as being "unacceptable."

Tim Rudman semi permanent Exhibit

Went to a semi permanent exhibit of Tim Rudmans work a week or so ago. Very interesting to see his originals. I had mixed feelings about it because there were too many images of trees. but it was well worth seeing how he prints. Most if not all were lith prints. Plenty from IR negs. A handful over enlarged to my eye.
But all printed in a very subtle style. No harsh contrast to be seen in any of them.
Definitely worth taking a look if you are in the area.

The exhibit is at The manor House Hotel and Conference Centre in Goldalming / Farncombe Surrey UK. The Hotel are quite happy for people to go just to look at the images which occupy 3 adjoining corriders. Approx 50 prints.
I phoned before hand just to check it was OK to turn up.
