new 8mm 3.5 fisheye ?

Thinking about taking the plunge. Only because, I have never owned a fisheye before, and the diminutive size of it, makes me think that I would use it without being conspicuous. It might be just the thing for snowboarding this winter, a kit that can be stowed without too much bulk, yay !

I really don't like it when a camera draws attention to itself. Thats part of the appeal of the Lumix G's, they are so small, most people don't pause when you pull it out. Anyways, I am quite tempted it pick up this lens. Yeah it's spendy, and fisheye tends to look gimicky if you use it too much. I do question the actual IQ that its delivering, I have spent the last couple of weeks, looking through flickr for results with it. From my amateur eye, I see some CA, a little purple fring here and there. It doesn't quite seem on par with the Zuiko fisheye. Anyone picked up one yet ?

fisheye

I have started using a 8mm f8 nikkor from my F2 system, on an E-P1 I just bougt. It is a fixed focus lens. I had to remove a metal flange that extended beyond the rear element, to make it fit without touching the sensor. This lend produced a circular image in 35mm and covered 180 degrees.

The distance between the rear element and the sensor using a a Chinese adaptor from ebay, is (or about) perfect to be in focus.

I am quitre happy with the E-P1
