DSLR/ SLR users...

I'm not sure if everyone is aware of this but we have a sister site, DSLR exchange: http://www.dslrexchange.com/modules.php?name=Jig . Same folks as here, same friendly atmosphere, both analog and digital.

I know alot of you guys shoot SLR's and DSLR's, why not post some images over there, start a discussion, wake the place up! I'ts utterly dead over there, I was the only person on the site for hours yesterday.

Come on over and help me knock the cobwebs off, clean the place up a bit, turn the lights back on.

I hope to see ya over there.

Todd

I recall that site, Todd... IIRC, Jorge created it some time after RFF.

I'll check it out. Thanks for the reminder!

I went to the NIKON forum there as it has 55 threads. But only one is visible? Same type of thing in the Canon forum. Yet the Leica forum has 2 pages of threads......

I haven't posted over there in ages but now that I have my Canon SLR cla'd & just picked up a Canon T70 I will have to post more. Saw the w/nw thread you started. Nice!! When I finish my roll of film in the T 70, hopefully I'll have something worth posting.

I visited that site once or twice. I doubt I'm registered there though. I think RFF really has a niche where DSLR forums are a dime a dozen. I'm surprised this site hasn't seen advertisers banging down the door considering the second life and newfound popularity rangefinders have experienced since the introduction of the M8.

Great, let's keep it going. I shoot a couple DSLR's as well as a few Nikon SLR'a and was looking for a place the other day when I remebered it. Not alot of activity as of late, it is what we make of it so let's go make it something.

GetDPI is a good forum as well, but DSLR Exchange is from the same folks that started this site here. If you like the discussion we have here, the banter and such then I would think it would be an easy decision.

I'm not into all the gear talk, more interested in the images. In the end it'll be what you make of it.

BTW, I don't have any ties to the site, just trying to selfishly spark some interest

The thing I can't stand about camera forums is that it's a lot of patting each other on the back and people giving advice who aren't qualified to and asking "what's the best camera/lens in the world?" And people suggesting to amateurs that they buy $8000 worth of lenses when all they want to do is photograph their kids. No one needs all that, and if you're a pro, you shouldn't be asking what lens you need and not everyone wants to carry around 15lbs of camera equipment for a trip to the park.

I see that on occasion here. But it isn't as blatant. And heaven forbid you ever speak ill of anyone else or say they're an awful photographer or you'll get your account deleted. I've put down a person or two here and I've had some grief about it from other users but no one ever deleted my account because of me giving my honest opinion. Which I have had happen on other forums.

I think RFF is just a laid back place where I can read about others lives and work, share my thoughts and opinions on subjects without bias, and keep up to date on the perils and benefits of working with a camera system very few see the value of.

I joined and posted. Let's see where it goes. DxSF or what ever it gets called, will need a hell of a lot more traffic if it is to blossom! A bit of controversy might help it out as well. Who moderates over there?

Yeah looks weird - it took a while for me to figure it out (hmm...I can be real stubborn at times). You have to (under Display options) make threads shown from "Beginning" - most of them are ancient, otherwise you'll only get the active threads (2 weeks old?).

Hi Chris -- Thanks to Todd, you and the others for visiting and posting in DSLRX. I'm the mod over there, though Joe also has mod powers and of course Stephen is the Head Bartender there as well.

It IS quiet there, but it gets visited quite a bit, and the posts on the front page get read regularly, plus the Gallery gets a steady flow of views. Curious to see a thread that has 617 views and one reply to the OP.
