Roger Hicks -- Author of The Rangefinder Book

Roger Hicks is a well known photographic writer, author of The Rangefinder Book, over three dozen other photographic books, and a frequent contributor to Shutterbug and Amateur Photographer. Unusually in today's photographic world, most of his camera reviews are film cameras, especially rangefinders. See www.rogerandfrances.com for further background (Frances is his wife Frances Schultz, acknowledged darkroom addict and fellow Shutterbug contributor) .

And thus "Paypie" was born, putting Paypal out of business. Although some customers did not like that Paypie nibbled 3% off their pies. :-)

Dear Cam,

Sold to the lady with the soft-focus leg for 400€! (spits on hand, slaps barrel head, etc.)

And as you say, thanks to everyone for helping with the price. I imagine you were as embarrassed about the idea of suggesting a price as I was. Hence the delay in mentioning it.

Cheers,

R.

the fairest price between friends is probably the one that is fair for both sides, not just for the buyer. 500-600$ seems ok to me, but then again, I haven't seen the camera.

have fun and good luck with the camera, Cam!

If I sell something to a friend I always take to lowest market price and knock 10% off (so about $585 in this case) - I let them make payments too if necessary. Usually the exchange takes place at StarBucks or some cafe and a social event is combined!

I'd ask her how much she thinks it worth. Put the ball in her court and see if it's a price you can live with.

Best quote of the day, am sure a bottle of Pastis was involved, and the friendship is priceless.

Throw in a rapid load when you find one, I did with Jorge, and when a tab needs to be picked up in Uruapan, I remind him. ;-)
