B&H is great, however they are this (holding thumb and finger very close) to becoming an internet monopoly. Places like Freestyle help to keep their prices as low as they are. Plus Freestyle is on the west coast - a big plus in my book! And they carry a lot of stuff that B&H does not - or that B&H lists, but always seems to be "out of stock" or "ships in 6-8 weeks". I support Freestyle as a great - even awesome - alternative to the NYC internet giants. Especially when it comes to supporting film photographers.

Sorry to hijack this thread. I've been fumbling around with Efke 25, and I've seen hints dropped here and there that this is the same film as Adox CHS 25.

However, Fotoimpoex in Germany as well as Freestyle (US) sells both films, so I keep wondering: Am I missing out by not trying the Adox CHS? Or is it just Efke with a different label?

Hijack away my friend, I want to hear everything!

No chance of me developing stuff my self, at least not in this year. I'm in the Army and in the Iraq desert right now.

And even though I live in Germany (south) it's easier for me to order stuff from the States. Now, if they had a store in Nurnberg, I'd be all over that since it's 30 minutes away!

I like Freestyle, I'll shop there. I also use Adorama for some parts when no one else seems to have them.

This is very true, besides they also really support darkroom chemistry which includes their Arista brand chemicals, paper, and Arista film.

No craft shops near where you are?

Nope, no chance of a craft shop like that. Mailing any chemicals inbound like that would get us locked up as a terrorist in a heart beat. They used to have places on each post that developed film which I utilized a few trips ago over here, but now they only print pictures from digital media, no film at all. It's disgraceful. All my film has to wait till I get back, or maybe I'll mail it to a shop and have it developed for me and sent back.

Don't miss to try Adox CMS 20 with Adotech developer. You get it from www.fotoimpex.de. I was very surprised for how long I could shoot with that low iso. Iso 20 is sufficient for shooting from early in the morning until right after sunset.

Regards
Steve
