Argus RF Forum for Argus RF nuts. The American made Argus C-3 may be the most prolific rangefinder, with over 3 million cameras produced! While American RF nutz of the 1950's may have yearned for a Leica, Zeiss, Canon or Nikon, most of them used an Argus !

C4, how to take apart and clean RF ? (Solved)

Hello from Maine

I like the Argus C4, I'm still trying to find a rangefinder that grows on me and I'll give it a try

Unfortunately the first one I bought, in "great condition" off eBay, the shutter doesn't work! Yikes!

So I eventually bought another, in "great condition" off eBay, but the rangefinder windows are dirty inside.

I'd like to know how to open the top and clean those, also my pal has a laser rangefinder - maybe I can use it to very the rangefinder is working so my first roll won't come back with all fuzzy subjects I'd like to know how to do that.

Thanks !
Craig

Having a clean rangefinder window makes a tremendous difference.

Have fun!
