Anyone using the Upstrap?

I've been using the Leica strap with my M7 and find it's OK but after wearing for a while, my shoulder starts to feel uncomfortable.

Any using the upstrap? I know Sean Reid likes it a lot:

I use wrist straps with all my cameras (rollei, canonet, m4-p y digilux 2). It lets you shoot from diferent angles (whitout actually looking through the viewfinder): from above (rising your hands), from bellow (putting your hand on the ground.) and you can imagen the others possibilities. Of course I carry a really small side back from which I can take out the camera very easily. This also helps me keep my camera out of the thief's sight. When I got a neck trap I found myself always shooting from my eye level.

Thanks for the link. I generally prefer neck straps, because of the flexibility (I can wrap them around my wrist if I want to go that way). I get really bugged, though, when cameras and bags start sliding off my shoulder, so this sounds like a good idea. I'm just wondering how that thing is gonna feel across the back of my neck. They do have several models, including one geared toward rangefinder cameras. I'm in the market for both a strap and a new bag. Maybe I'm half-way there.

My understanding is that most people don't wear it around the neck, but rather only over one shoulder. Didn't realize they had a rangefinder version, so thanks for pointing that out.

I've only just put one of the "big SLR" UPstraps on a Bronica RF645, and so far I like it a lot. I carry over one shoulder. The first thing I noticed was that the pad has those grippy fingers on both sides. Most straps/pads with grip surfaces are just one-sided, so when the strap twists 180 degrees it now slides off your shoulder easily! The designer of this one was thinking!

I recently got both the SLR and RF straps - the SLR for my Canon 20D and the RF for my Mamiya 6. I had both cameras with me shooting a jazz festival recently - the 20D with 200 2.8 and the M6 with 50mm lens. When using the 20D I had the M6 on my left shoulder, and when using the M6 the 20D was either on my right shoulder or around my neck.

I had no problems with either slipping, but the strap would pull on my shirt. If you're wearing a loose shirt then the strap will move together with the shirt.

I wouldn't use the Upstrap for longer periods around my neck - I would use an Optech for that instead. The Upstrap rubber isn't very elastic, so little "shock absorbtion" effect.

I use the Upstrap with my DLSR and have mixed feelings about it. It certainly stays put and the large rubber pad distributes the weight well, but I find the rubber nubs to be irritating to my skin if it's at all hot out. It actually creates sweat on my neck. For my Leica I just bought a strap from Artisan and Artist and absolutely love it. It is expensive (like anything associated with Leica) but is simply beautiful.
